In this page I will try and provide some lessons I have learnt from keeping plants and how to plan what plants you should use for your terrariums. I am mostly limited to more humid plants and still need to develop my arid plant knowledge!
The majority of my plants are kept in my enclosures with a jungle dawn LED being their main source of light. I have now set up a couple propagation and grow tubs for some tropical plant species that are not native to the areas my animals are from. So far these tubs have been very successful. They are just 84 litre storage boxes from Tesco with lava rocks as a base, a piece of tree fern for some climbing plants, and then a jungle dawn LED for plant growth.
Regarding lighting there are some people that just use any cool white LED such as LED floodlights and also have a lot of success growing plants but my most consistently good results have always been from jungle dawns.
