As part of my aim to recreate every part of nature as closely as possible I have now also researched the soil composition from areas where Dendrobates tinctorius "azureus" are found. I used previous captive research as well and with the help of a friend who is obsessed with soil we made a redart clay terrarium soil.

Most of my research found a high red clay level for their natural environment so this is one of the main aspects we worked on. She made a kit that would allow full clay areas as well as mixing it within the soil.

I have now changed the soil over and added a clay puddle area so cant wait to see if they use it how I hope they will!
